QUESTIONNAIRES IN MIXED-METHODS RESEARCH: INTRO

8/10/2016

It is important to consider how questionnaires are -- more and more -- used in conjunction with other instruments and research protocols in order to obtain a more enhanced understanding of a particular phenomenon.   In the next class, we will be discussing how interviews, for example, can be used in conjunction with questionnaires, and how such interviews can benefit from what are variously called 'interview protocols', 'interview guides', or 'interview schedules'.

Below are links to three articles that illustrate methodologies that incorporate these instruments in mixed-methods research designs.

- The Caragarajah article.
-- The Borg article.

You do not necessarily have to read the whole article carefully:  the important thing is to read and understand the method section.  We will discuss all three article in class next Thursday.

Please post any questions or comments below.
